Just in time for Valentine’s Day, learn about the harmonious, vibrant pillars of soil health to achieve vigorous, resilient gardens! Join veteran Clallam County Master Gardener Dave Eberle for the Green Thumb Education Series presentation “Love Your Soil,” During this presentation, Dave will:
- Highlight soil properties and ways you can determine your own soil’s texture, compaction, and drainage.
- Clarify the benefits of clay in your soil and also how to deal with excessive clay.
- Examine recent discoveries on the amazing roles that microbes play in actually feeding plants and protecting them from disease.
- Discuss the four principles of soil health that have revolutionized both commercial agriculture and backyard gardening.
Dave is the Co-Lead Master Gardener of the Woodcock Demonstration Garden. He also is the Lead Master Gardener for the Vegetable Garden at Woodcock that showcases the four principles of soil health. Dave serves on the Clallam County Master Gardener Foundation Board. He received the National Presidential Achievement Award in 2025.
The Green Thumb Education Series, sponsored by the Washington State University Clallam County Master Gardeners, is held in person typically on Thursdays from January through May, and September through November.
